Hey TnL, good point I didn't mention anything about after shave treatments. I've tried quite a few, and frankly I don't really buy in to them... nothing seems to work for me. I do two things. First, I shave once a week. After awhile it stops being uncomfortable - your body gets used to it. Second, I use a salt scrub or sugar scrub once or twice a week. I like the ones with a nice oil base and a rather coarse exfoliant, but depends on your skin a bit. The key for me is just to minimize ingrown hairs, and everything else seems to work itself out. A good body lotion can help too if you tend to get dry skin.

You didn't mention anything about shaving creams, oils, or after care creams like bikini zone and what not for razor burn/bumps, I still can't seem to enjoy the shave of most of my body due to discomfort afterward. My Miss keeps telling me to use Bikini Zone and things of that nature. It's about me getting brave at this point. Shave butters work very well. Also, Coconut oil is a great shaving cream. Any other advice you have for preventing razer bumps and or discomfort the very next day?

Wolf, yes that's a pretty common problem. It's most likely razor burn. Make sure you're using a new sharp razor, and don't go at it too aggressively. With luck your skin will also get used to being shaved after doing it a few times... though it's always a bit prickly when hair starts growing back in :/

Thanks for the tips FrickFrack :) By the way, VEET doesn't work at all for me because my hair is too coarse - it generally works well if you have finer hair though.

I haven't tried the ProGlide yet, but I've used each of the other Fusion razors. I prefer womens razors due to the larger (more stable) platform around the blades, but I agree that the Fusion blades are excellent. Luckily, Venus razors use the same technology as Fusion razors . . . so I'll just have to keep my eye out for the next Venus upgrade (they always upgrade the mens razors first for some reason).

Two comments:

Furry - Yes gradual shaving works. I simply shaved all my body hair off, and declare.."I like it like this...I hate being furry". A friend saw this, and felt confident enough to do the same, except he opted for laser treatments [yea, he's rich].

Also - For the greatest [and fastest] hair removal from the neck down is....VEET Hair Removal Cream. Comes in a 3-5 min and 8-10 min formula. It can be used on the entire body, EXCEPT the perineum, balls, and anus. You're going to have to shave these areas. VEET can be used between butt cheeks too, up to the "hole". VEET can be economical [$9] with experience. I get 2 full body & many touch-ups inbetween.

Also, I just experienced the Gillette ProGlide. WOW. This new 5 blade razor really does the trick, and somehow lasts for so many shaves [8-10] shaves without nicks or cuts. Dyn-O-Mite.

Hey Furry. Believe it or not I'm furry too if I don't shave. I started a little at a time - first my crotch area, which my girlfriend at the time really liked. And then I tried my chest to get rid of the funny line between my crotch and belly. If that goes over ok then you can go for the legs because being shaved is "more comfortable". Just spread it out over time and no one will really notice :)

The problem I have is everybody knows I'm a big furry guy and as much as I'd like to shave it off a lot of people (my new girlfriend included) would ask questions that I'd rather avoid. Any tips for somebody who wants to crossdress but is afraid to shave too much?

Well I mentioned shaving facial hair just as a comparison - you use the same motion to shave the rest of your body as you do your face.
